CHS Initial Course Meeting - Griffin Fire District Station 2
If this is your first time through the Olympia CHS course the Olympia CHS orientation class is mandatory (even if you completed a CHS course through another branch). If you enrolled in the Olympia CHS course previously and attended an Olympia orientation you do not have to attend another one. The orientation class is your first opportunity to meet your fellow hikers and includes: • A gear check • Information about how to complete course requirements • A review of expectations and responsibilities • Instruction for finding and signing up for hikes • Information and resources • Question & answer

Please bring your day pack to this class loaded as if you were going on a spring hike in rainy weather of 5 miles gaining 600 feet of elevation. An experienced hike leader will review your equipment and may have ideas to help you pack efficiently and safely for day hikes.
Class runs from 8:45 a.m. to about 1:00 p.m.
