We will meet at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA 98503, from 6:30-9:30 PM.
This lecture will focus on wilderness skills and the nuts and bolts of the course. It will include an introduction to the course; student orientation; belay demonstration, and knot practice.

Students should read Freedom of the Hills, 9th edition: ch. 9; basic safety system; and ch. 10; belaying; in addition to chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, which were assigned to be read prior to Wilderness Skills.
