Meany is open for day-use this winter!

COVID-19 precautions mean this will be a winter unlike others, but the snow is calling!  Meany will be offering its unique rope-tow lift-assisted backcountry experience with far smaller crowds than other ski areas.

Help keep everyone safe from COVID.  All participants are expected to have and wear a mask for the tow in and out, when inside, or whenever gathered in a group.  Participants are expected to keep their distance from people outside their quarantine pod.  Anyone feeling sick is asked to cancel and will receive a full refund.

Meany Lodge itself will be closed - only the bathrooms will be open.  All guests will be coming in on the 8:30am cat run from the parking lot and returning  on the 4:30pm cat run back out to the parking lot.   There will be no overnight guests  in the Lodge this year.   People interested in snow camping on the campus should contact chair@meanylodge.org.

We will be offering a simple hot lunch served in open shelters.

This year, Meany will be most enjoyed by those ready to spend the day outside, with limited opportunities for rewarming.

Everyone must pre-register on the website to ensure our group size remains within the limits established by the Governor and to enable contact tracing should it be necessary.  We regret we cannot accommodate drop-ins.

Read more about what to expect at our winter weekends at Meany, including  where to park, what parking permits you'll need, and how transportation to/from the lodge works.  Please see the "Notes" tab for what to bring and where to meet.

We are offering ski and snowboarding lessons.  Please sign up for the clinics listed on the calendar.  Unfortunately, the need to keep distance between our instructors and students means we are unable to offer lessons to first-time skiers or those unable to stand on their skis and glide.  Meany is famous as a place for young kids and those who have never worn skis before to learn to ski -- please do come next year!

Read more about what to expect at our winter weekends at Meany, including where to park, what parking permits you'll need, and how transportation to/from the lodge works.

Please see the winter directions for getting to Meany Lodge.

We will meet at 8:10 am in the overnight parking area of the Crystal Spring Sno-Park.    Your car will need a State Sno-Park Permit.  Have your ski boots on and your skis handy - we are asking everyone that is able to tow in so we can stay spread out for the cat ride in to Meany.  This year there will only be one cat ride in, and it leaves the parking lot at 8:30am.

Please minimize  the amount of gear you bring.  We suggest a change of clothes per person in case you get wet, and that these clothes be in a backpack you can hang on a peg in our shelters.

We expect to return to the parking lot by 6pm.  There will be a limited number of spots available on a ride out to the parking lot after lunch for those that find it too cold.

Meany encourages wearing  helmets!  They are required for anyone sledding.

Please bring your  own skis and outdoor exploration gear.  We have a limited number of snow shoes available to borrow at the Lodge.

If you would like to sled, please bring helmets for all sledders (all ages must have helmets), and please plan to have an adult at the top and bottom of the sled hill to ensure safety.

Please wear clothes in layers that will keep your warm and comfortable outside from 8:30am till 6pm.

We suggest a change of clothes per person in case you get wet, and that these clothes be in a backpack you can hang on a peg in our shelters.
