
Lecture: Basic Sea Kayaking Course
Lecture - Private Residence
Lecture covering necessary equipment, important safety guidelines such as hypothermia, tides and currents, weather for kayakers, group dynamics, ergonomics and avoiding injuries, and principles of basic conservation. Trip planning, charts, and navigation will also be covered.

Bring clothing for being in the water as there is a good chance we will be in the water during a portion of the day. Please remember to bring a towel and protective foot wear for being in the water.

Sea Kayak with floatation/sealed compartments
Paddle
Pump
paddle float
Spray skirt
USCG approved PFD
Appropriate attire for being in the water (dry or wet suit strongly recommended)
Sun screen for personal protection
