Introduction to Hiking

Easy day hike with a talk at the trailhead about how to dress for comfort and safety, what to bring along (the 10 essentials), fitness, first aid, navigation and hiking etiquette.
Day Hiking

New to hiking or just want getting back into it?  This moderate hike is a great way to start.  We'll hike out approximately 2.7 miles to a shelter and return (5.4 mi. round trip).  

Be sure to bring along these things: Sturdy shoes or boots with good traction and support (and good seal); Trekking poles or walking stick for support (trail can get muddy); Clothing: dress in layers (no cotton): base, insulating (warm), water/wind proof; hat and gloves; backpack; water and food.

Required: one activity scheduled, all must attend
