Ready to begin at 6:30 PM at the Kitsap Program Center -- 1550 Rocky Point Road NW, Bremerton WA 98312.

AIARE Level 1 course is a prerequisite for this lecture and the course. Bring any snow gear you would like to have a look at. We will discuss/demonstrate running belay with pickets and/or ice screws, single person crevasse rescue, snow shelter construction and safety concerns with snow caves. We will review avalanche beacon procedures at the trailhead and in the field.
Begin paying attention to the Mount Hood avalanche forecast no less than one week prior to the field trip/climb.
