Develop a Personalized Strength & Conditioning Plan for Hiking and Backpacking, with Sheri Goodwin

In this virtual version of Sheri's popular Conditioning for Hiking and Backpacking Level 1 course, learn how to get fit for the trails so that you are ready to hike when they re-open!

In this online virtual training course you will learn multi-joint hiking specific strength training exercises that you can do in a park or in your home or yard.  After the exercises are taught you will learn about general proper progression for your hiking workouts.  Examples of workouts using the learned exercises will be shown.  For alternate days, the course will also go over hiking specific cardiovascular training.   Both will move you towards your goals of being physically ready for Washington’s many trails when they re-open.

The zoom link to join the meeting will be emailed on the day before the class to everyone who registered for the session.  YOu must register to receive the link.

The modest fee charged for this clinic will be used to help The Mountaineers maintain their staff and adult and youth programs through this difficult time.

Instructor Bio:

Sheri Goodwin taught and coached in the Shoreline School district for 13 years before starting her dream business, Transformational Journeys.  She holds a Masters in Education, and a Bachelor’s in Physical Education with an Endorsement in Health from the University of Puget Sound.  Sheri is a Personal Trainer through the National Personal Trainers Institute (NPTI), a Reconnective Healer (RH) and practices Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).  Sheri’s trekking adventures in Nepal, Patagonia, Peru, up Kilimanjaro, as well as along the Camino de Santiago, Way of St. Frances (Assisi to Rome), Hadrian’s Wall in England and around the Wonderland Trail of Mount Rainier have inspired her to help others experience these life-changing journeys!
