In August of 2021, David  completed a 150-mile loop of the Olympic National Park.  Starting at Deer Park Campground, he traversed Obstruction Point, strolled along Grand Valley, dealt with hordes of mosquitoes at Grand Pass, descended Cameroun Creek, scampered up Haydon Pass, swam in Lake Beauty, rambled up the primitive skyline trail, picked up his cache of food stored at the North Shore Campground, hitch hiked to  Graves Creek, plodded along the primitive trails of Six Ridge pass, sauntered along the north fork of the Skokomish and Duckabush trails, bushwacked over Hart Lake to join the O’Neil Pass trail, trekked back up the west fork of the Dosewallips river trail, hiked up and over the Gray Wolf pass, and back up the Three Forks trail back to his starting point. The 12 day, 150 mile, 55,000 ft ascent sojourn earned him membership in the coveted Olympic Brotherhood club, awarded by Donovan Rafferty and an astonished ranger.  Spoiler alert: here’s a 5 minute video summary of the journey:  https://youtu.be/b6mg6JeqzP0
