  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

Lewis Creek Visitor's Center. Seminar starts promptly at 6pm and will be done by 7:30pm.

Note: This seminar is being conducted in partnership with the City of Bellevue TRACKS program. Attendance is open to all City of Bellevue residents and Mountaineers on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration is not required and does not guarantee you a spot, so arrive early!

Are you a three-season hiker looking to extend your adventures into the winter? This evening seminar offers an introduction to the sport of snowshoeing appropriate for beginners. Topics include:

  • How snowshoeing differs from hiking
  • Winter-gear and snowshoeing-specific gear selection
  • Winter-specific safety concerns
  • Appropriate beginner snowshoe routes

A selection of gear will be available for students to check out and ask questions. This seminar is informational only, and is not required to participate in any Mountaineers activity or course. It is designed as a less committing introduction to the sport for those who do not feel ready to take the Basic Snowshoeing course.
