Presentation by experienced winter campers on how to safely and comfortably camp overnight in winter. Time for Q&A with audience is included.

The lecture will begin online via Zoom at 6:30 PM. Details will be sent to registered course participants ahead of the lecture date.

 

Cover a range of topics relevant to winter camping, including:

  • trip planning and site selection
  • winter gear and clothing requirements
  • winter cooking and food and water
  • getting around in winter
  • winter hazards and first aid
  • how to set up a winter camp

A gear demonstration table will be set up so students can talk with experienced winter campers before and after the lecture about gear needs and options.
