Digital Trip Planning for Scramblers will introduce participants to digital tools useful for planning off-trail navigation.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

The lecture will be held at the Eastside Fire and Rescue HQ from 6 - 9 PM. The door is on the left side of the building.

This evening lecture runs from 6 - 9 and will cover digital trip planning including:

  • Route Planning with Peakbagger, GaiaGPS,, and many more
  • Mapping using CalTopo including use of layers, sun exposure, weather, etc.
  • Working with GPS tracks
  • Google Earth

This course is focused on using modern digital tools and workflow to plan a trip with a focus on planning off-trail trips for scramblers and climbers.
