We will meet at 5:15 at Grand View Park, an Issaquah City Park in the Issaquah Highlands/Grand Ridge neighborhood. (There is a small portion of the park with a covered pavilion and a playground that is owned by the HOA and called Kirk Park. We will meet near the bathroom by the playground.) Sunset is at 7:30 pm, so we will wrap up by then.
Topics include:
Leader kits to bring on scrambling trips
Descending kits for trip participants
Knots
Anchor materials
Anchor fundamentals
Handlines
Protected downclimbing
Other topics depending on time
We will do this outdoors, regardless of weather.
Gear
Please bring your scramble harness, backpack, and helmet, as well as gloves that are good for rope and gear handling, and any clothing you need to stay warm and dry. Chances are good for mud, so don't wear your fanciest clothes. Please make sure you have a headlamp for dusk. Per Covid-times, we'll need masks and hand sanitizer, as well. We will do our best to socially distance, but there will be times we need to check each others anchors and knots. We will provide the ropes. Optional: bring gear that you would plan to carry on a scramble to build anchors.
