Nordic Ski Waxing Clinic - Mountaineers Tacoma Program Center

This 2.5 hour glide waxing clinic will teach you why one needs to hot wax their skis, and how to hot wax your Nordic skis for  improved performance.  This includes both classic and skate cross country skis. Waxless classic ski tips and tails  need glide wax too. Waxless refers to the kick zone, not the tips and tails that need wax. We will demonstrate how to choose the proper ski glide wax by temperature and how to apply it to the ski glide zone, as well as what equipment and supplies you will need to make your own waxing station.  The clinic leaders will give a complete demonstration on hot waxing from start to finish.  Once a Nordic skier experiences skiing on recently hot waxed skis, the skier wants to repeat the hot wax process again and  again.  In order to respect the facility, it is not possible for participants to wax their own skis at this clinic.
