This clinic will meet from 6:30-9 over Zoom.  Participants will be emailed the Zoom link the evening prior to the event.

Please only sign up to instruct if you are a current ski leader and are prepared to teach the curriculum, attend a training on zoom breakout groups, and lead a break out group independently.

This 2.5 hour evening course provides experienced cross-country skiers information they need to become an effective cross country ski leader for the Mountaineers. This course is a pre-requisite (along with a mentor ski trip and committee approval) to becoming an official cross-country ski leader for the club.  Past and current cross-country ski leaders as well as those interested in becoming a new leader are invited to participate. The workshop is free and open to all Mountaineers members that have participated in our programs in the past, but please register online so we can schedule the right number of instructors.

Seminar objectives:

  • Know the kinds of trips you want to lead, and how to attract participants who have the same interests and capabilities.
  • Understand and be prepared to carry out the roles and expectations of a cross-country ski leader for the Mountaineers.
  • Be prepared and confident to handle common challenges you will encounter leading groups on the trail.
  • Be ready to take the next steps to become a cross-country ski leader for the Mountaineers.
