Eastside Fire and Rescue Headquarters
175 Newport Way NW
Issaquah, WA 98027
The Eastside Fire and Rescue Headquarters is located just west of downtown Issaquah. Park in front of the building. The meeting room is accessible via an outside door on the south side of the building.
This instructor training will review all applicable navigation topics, skills and tools covered in the Foothills Wilderness Navigation Workshops and Field Trips as well as teaching techniques and tricks. New instructors are encouraged to attend, but it's not required. Experienced instructors are also welcome, especially if they haven't instructed for a few years.
The Workshop and Field Trip will be reviewed from an instructor's point of view, and we'll also discuss key points you should cover with your small group during both events. We'll also cover specific skills in more detail, if needed.
Please bring USGS Baring, compass, Smartphone, pencil, and paper for taking notes
In order to attend you need to be a Basic Navigation Course graduate or Equivalency Candidate. If your badge has expired, instructing is a great way to renew your badge.
Required Equipment
Bring your compass, USGS Bearing, pencil and altimeter or smart phone
