St Edward's Park parking lot at 9:00am - A Discover Pass is required. I will have a red handkerchief on my backpack so that you'll be able to spot me in the parking lot. Please be there 9 am sharp so we can make introductions, and get to hiking no later than 9:15 am!

This is considered an urban hike. There isn't a need for all 10 essentials, but it will likely be chilly starting out. Please bring a small day pack, with at least 1 liter of water, which equals about 32 oz. This is considered a loop hike, and we will encounter roots that could be slippery, a couple of steeper downhill sections (very short), and soft forest floor. We will be hiking through forested areas, along the waterfront and back up to the park through another forested area. This will mostly be under canopy, but sun protection is encouraged.

In addition, please bring hiking poles for balance if you have them, a small snack and some layers as it may be chilly starting out. Good hiking boots or good traction runners are recommended.

We will start out at a comfortable pace. There may be times where we will go faster just to get an idea of what that feels like, but the hike will be around 1.5 mph, and on flatter parts, we could go a little quicker.

Expect to be at the park until noon, just to allow for stopping, assessing, conversation, picture taking, etc.
