June Hikes: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain - Tiger Mountain Lowlands

This hike counts toward your monthly required GoHike course hike for June.

  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.5
  • Elevation Gain: 800 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph

We'll meet at 8:00 AM in the Highpoint Trailhead parking area. A Discover Pass is required for this parking area.

For this GoHike series hike, we will string a few trails together in the tranquil Tiger Mountain Lowlands area to make ourselves a 4.5 mile loop hike with 800 feet of elevation gain.  We'll start our hike from the Highpoint Trailhead Parking Lot on the wide and flat "Around the Lake Trail", connect to the "Bus Trail", and the "Section Line Trail", we'll then turn off onto the "Talus Rocks Trail" and begin our climb on this much narrower trail that winds through the forest passing a few small water features, before topping out at our high point for the trail and heading back towards the parking area via the "West Tiger Mountain 3 Trail". While this hike does not offer spectacular views, it is a peaceful hike through varied terrain and features lots of trees. There is a pit toilet at the parking area.
