March GoHike Pacing Hikes: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Dune Peninsula to Ruston Waterfront

This easy waterfront hike, from Dune Peninsula Park to Les Davis Pier on Ruston Way, is intended to help you and the GoHike team determine what pace and challenge level you want to start with in the series.

Carpooling is not recommended due to the risk of Covid-19.

There are restrooms at the meeting place and at the lunch stop.

No parking pass is required at the meeting place.

This entire hike is along the Puget Sound waterfront, passing first by the redeveloped former site of the Asarco Smelter  and along  Ruston Way to the Les Davis fishing pier by which are restrooms and a snack bar, with picnic tables nearby for us to eat lunch at.  The hike is about two miles each way, all level on a wide asphalt trail.

Footwear should be suitable for walking on asphalt.

Clothing should all be non-cotton and able to be layered to adjust to changing body temperatures.  Rain gear, including a pack cover, should be carried in case it is needed.
