March GoHike Pacing Hikes: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Camano Island State Park

Join us for a 2.6-mile gentle hike in this 244-acre state park near Everett with sweeping views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. This hike is intended to help you determine what pace and challenge level you want to start with in the series.

  • Easy
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 3.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 709 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 - 2 mph

This is a great place for a quiet off-season hike. On this loop trail, there are views, a forest walk, birding and beach combing. You can read more about the hike on this WTA link:

Meet at 9AM at Camano Island State Park - google map location https://goo.gl/maps/Mce9surHSUzpdGaX8. We expect you to arrive early enough so that you have time to visit the restroom, gear up and be ready to muster at 9.

A Discover Pass is required. You can buy an annual pass for $30, or a day pass for $10.

The Mountaineers are not currently recommending carpooling outside of people that are in your household.

A mask is required. It needs to be easily pulled into place should we encounter hiker traffic on the trail.

Since this is a pace hike Pam and I are planning to lead you thru a few pace levels  while we are out so that you can experience them and begin to get a sense of what they feel like.
