May Hikes: 3 to 5.5 miles, 300 to 1,250 feet gain - Lake Wilderness Park

Experience history on a mostly level wide trail through a forested corridor with four railroad tunnels, across two bridges and through a botanical garden enroute to our lunch spot at picnic tables along the shore of beautiful Lake Wilderness, with restrooms nearby. This hike can apply toward your GoHike Series graduation!

Carpooling with people outside your household is not recommended at this time due to the risk of Covid-19.

From the meeting place, we will caravan the short distance to the trailhead, near where SR 18 crosses SR 169.  There are restrooms by the lunch spot and the meeting place, but not at the trailhead.  Our lunch spot by Lake Wilderness will provide us views of wildlife.

Footwear should be suitable for walking on asphalt, gravel and wet grass.  Clothing should all be non-cotton and able to keep you comfortable during the forecast weather.  If rain is forecast, rain gear should be brought, including a pack cover.
