GoHike Hiking Trip - 2-5 miles, up to 750 feet gain - Alki Beach Park & Alki Point

The views? Priceless. The elevation gain? Oh, about 42 inches. The social-pace hiking distance? About five miles. Time for a late lunch or snack? Sure, let have lunch on the beach at Alki; bring a beach towel or small blanket to sit on!! Want some bonus fun? Take the water taxi from downtown (free Sunday parking) to get to the "trailheaad"!!

Meeting time: 12:00pm

Meeting place: at the  water taxi landing on Harbor Avenue SW, near Marination restaurant.  Parking available nearby.  More detailed directions in the HelloHiker pre-trip email.

This will be an urban hike on a paved trail.  We'll have continuous views of Elliot Bay, the city, the mountains, and the nearby islands.    It will be an out-and back hike.  We'll stop for a late lunch halfway through; you can either bring something or buy something at an Alki cafe or restaurant.  (I'm going to gwet some take-out at Marination Ma Kai, our meet-up spot, one of my favorite (Hawaiian inspired) restaurants in all of Seattle; they've got some great taco's and sandwiches).
