April Hikes: 2.5 - 5 miles, 250 - 1,000 feet gain - Seward Park

Enjoy this easy 2.6 mile flat hike around the perimeter of Bailey Peninsula at Seward Park with views of Lake Washington and Mercer Island. This hike can apply toward your GoHike Graduation! The hike will have a gentle pace.

  • Mileage: 2.6 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 65 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2mph

Meet in front of the Audubon Center at Seward Park at 10am. We will depart promptly by 10:10am.

This is a good "getting started" hike as it's on a flat, paved surface and not very long.

I will start off in the lead, walking around 2mph, but may adjust if anyone starts lagging behind. If so, I'll move them to the front to set the pace for the rest of us. From time to time, I will move around so that I can talk to each hiker individually and see how they are doing, share info about the Mountaineers, etc.

We will walk the perimeter loop in a clockwise direction from the Audubon Center. We should be finished by noon, if not earlier.

After our hike, you have the option of meeting up at a local coffee shop or lunch spot to talk about the hike, your goals, etc.
