From the Subway Restaurant, we will caravan to the trailhead, where there are no restroom facilities.

The hike begins descending some steps to the May Creek Trail on the railbed of the former Walla Walla Railroad, that carried coal from the local mines to the Seattle waterfront, for shipment to San Francisco to fuel the newly completed transcontinental railroad.

After one mile, we head north onto the Waterline Trail, that takes us to our lunch spot at Lake Boren, where there are restrooms.  We return by the same route.
