Want to enjoy your favorite ‘comfort food’ on a backpack trip with minimal weight, prep time, cleanup or smelly bulky trash to pack out? Want an alternative to the high sodium and high expense of pre-packaged dehydrated meals? Want tips for planning your backpacking menus to maintain your energy and avoid the ‘bonk’?

This practical virtual class will include some tried-and-true ideas for planning and prep before your trip, food for the trail and food prep at camp. You will also get some resources for ordering inexpensive dehydrated staples and preparing your own, from your favorite recipes. This class is for new backpackers and also for experienced ones who have learnings and recipes to share.

The modest course fee will go toward helping  the Mountaineers maintain their staff, conservation advocacy and youth and adult programs through this difficult time.
