Essential Trip Planning Skills and Tools for Backpackers - Online Clinic - Online Classroom

This clinic will introduce the basic information, skills and tools to help you find the best destination for your trip and develop a trip plan including route, camps, food, water, gear, transportation and emergency plans, to help you prepare for a safe and successful adventure. THIS SEMINAR IS OFFERED FOR FREE TO STUDENTS IN THE B3 COURSE but you must register on the B3 course page - do not register here if you plan to take B3!

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

This program will begin promptly at 6:30PM and end at 9PM.   The zoom login details will be emailed to everyone on the roster no later than the morning of May 18.

At this clinic backpackers will be intrduced to some helpful tips, get exposed to handy online and digital tools and carry away  some handy templates and skills to select a destination, get necessary information about topography, water, camps, access, seasonal trail conditions and  weather, and develop a trip plan including route and camps, transportation, gear, food, water and emergency alternatives.

A small fee is charged for this seminar to help the Mountaineers continue to offer their programs to get adults and youth outside and conserve wild places during these challenging financial times.  STUDENTS IN THE BACKPACKING BUILDING BLOCKS COURSE CAN TAKE THIS SEMINAR FOR FREE but you must register on the B3 course page to get the free version.
