Family Backpack - Lake Dorothy

This is the Foothills Backpacking with Kids backpacking trip to a beautiful, kid friendly alpine lake.

  • Mileage: 4.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 800 ft

Meet Saturday, July 22, at 8:30am at the Lake Dorothy trail head off highway 2 near Skykomish 45 miles east of Everett.  We`ll start hiking from the trail head at 9:00 am.

Bring Saturday lunch, snacks, and dinner.  Sunday breakfast, snacks, and lunch (1 breakfast, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, snacks).  If the weather is good, we`ll plan to depart the lake Sunday after lunch about 2pm.  So you`ll be home for dinner.  If the weather is very wet, we`ll probably pack up after breakfast.

Bring your family back pack gear, a swim suit if you like cold lakes, and your NW Forest Pass.  We were fortunate to have dry and warm weather on our practice camp... it may rain and be cold the whole time on this trip, so come prepared.  We want this to be a "happy camp" for your kids no matter the weather.
