Trail Emergency Preparedness

Lecture: Backpacking Building Blocks (B3) Course

Trail Emergency Preparedness - Bellevue Public Library

Evening seminar, free for B3 course students and active Foothills leaders! Gain basic skills and information to handle the most common first-aid situations encountered on trails.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

6:30-9PM at the Bellevue Library, room 1, 1111 110th Avenue NE Bellevue WA 98004.

This one-night clinic was created at the request of hikers and backpackers who haven't been able to commit the time and money to complete the 20 hour Wilderness First Aid course, but still want a good basic understanding of what should go in a first-aid kit and how to use it in common trail situations. We will provide new and long-time trail travelers with some basic skills and information to handle the most common first-aid situations encountered on trails:   blisters, sprains, hypothermia, wound care, splints and slings as time permits. We will also review Mountaineers club protocols for responding to emergency situations.
