Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Spider Gap, Lyman Lakes & Buck Creek Pass

A Cascade classic, this 30 mile loop to the northeast of Glacier peak is a challenging but rewarding three day trip. Synthesize everything you`ve learned in the B3 course and have fun in this beautiful alpine area. B3 students in Lorelei and Sarah`s mentor group have priority signup through Friday, June 11. Meet at the Phelps Creek campground at the end of the Chiwawa River Road (via Hwy 2 and Lake Wenatchee) at 9am Friday morning to set up short shuttle to our starting trailhead.  We`ll depart at 9:20am.

Day 1: Ten miles to Buck Creek Pass, +3100 feet on a steady grade to the pass.  A great kickoff to further adventures.

Day 2: 11 miles over ridges and creeks to Suiattle and Cloudy passes.  Then we`ll descend and camp near lower Lyman Lake; -3240 feet, +2840 feet.

Day 3: Ascend to the Lyman snowfield and cross Spider Gap at our high point of 7100.  Then descend  through Spider Meadow and walk along Phelps Creek to our car shuttle at the trailhead.

These will be long but wonderful days!
