Meet at the  Pete Lake Trailhead at 8:00am. There is an option to camp Friday night at Owhi Campground.

Day 1: We will hike 5 miles along the relatively flat Pete Lake Trail. About 1 mile past Pete Lake, we'll cross Lemah Creek, then connect with the Pacific Crest Trail. We'll take the PCT through an old burn area before climbing the switchbacks up to Spectacle Lake. Most of the elevation is in the last mile. Our total for the day will be approximately 11 miles and 1500 feet of elevation gain. We will set up camp at Spectacle Lake and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at camp and exploring the lake basin.

Day 2: Hike back out to Pete Lake Trailhead.

The Lemah Creek crossing can be challenging depending the on the stream flow. We will assess the safety hazards and our comfort level as a group before crossing. We can detour an extra mile to sturdy log crossing, if needed.

This is a relatively long hike and Spectacle Lake is a popular destination. We will hike at a moderate 2 mph pace, but will need to be efficient on the trail.
