Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack

Field trip: Backpacking Building Blocks (B3) Course

Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Rachel, Rampart & Lila Lakes

Fall colors and 360-degree views of the PCT await us on the summit of Alta Mountain. We’ll camp at Rampart or Lila Lakes depending on crowds. This field trip will give B3 students the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on an easy overnight backpack with an experienced mentor.

The last section of the trail up to Rachel Lake (our first stop) is steep with lots of roots but we won’t be in a hurry. The trail up to Alta is rocky in places but not technical. We also have the option of camping “off the grid” at some unnamed tarns just below the mountain.
