Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Lily Basin, Snowgrass Flat, Cispus Basin & Elk Pass

This trip will provide an opportunity to try out gear and hone skills with experienced mentors. Leader Permission is required...meaning  that you must ask for permission and if approved, I will add you to the trip.  We will set up camp near Cispus Basin with opportunities for day hikes to Cispus Pass and Goat Lake. The picture of Cispus Basin was taken in 2019. You don't want to miss this trip!

We will meet in Packwood at 7am and caravan to the Snowgrass Flats Trail head.

I did this backpack in August 2019. I was pleasantly surprised by the magnificent views of Goat Rocks  and Cispus Basin. I hope you will have the same experience!

The backpack to our campsite is  3.9 miles, 1,380 ft ascent. The day hikes add about 1,000 ft and 6 miles RT for each hike.

The Ten Essentials, plus overnight gear as specified by the trip leader.

For Covid19, a cloth mask (mouth covering, can use buff neck wrap), alcohol based hand sanitizer and/or biodegradable soap are required. Participants are expected to  reasonable effort at using face coverings when needed and social distance on the trail. 

Because our campsite will be around 5,500 ft elevation, plan for clothing for cooler weather.
