Backpack - Heather Park-Lake Angeles Loop
The Lake Angeles Trail is a moderate backpacking trip that steadily climbs 2,300 feet in 3.7 miles to an elevation of 4196 feet. There are several campsites at the northern end of the 20 acre lake with views of the surrounding steep slopes up to Klahhane Ridge and Mount Angeles. This trip is open to all qualified Mountaineers members but will include extra support for B3 students.

Permits/Reservations: Obtain permits at the WIC in Port Angeles. No reservations needed for this area. The leader will obtain the required permits. A fee of $5 per person is required.
Food Storage Method: No bear wires. Bear canisters recommended as it is difficult to hang food 12 feet high and 10 feet out from the nearest trunk.
Location and sites: Numerous sites at the lake
Toilet Facilities: None. Bury human waste 6-8" deep and 200 feet from water sources and campsites.
