Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Gothic Basin

A sea of granite awaits you in the heart of Washington’s historical mining country. Gothic and Del Campo peaks tower above Foggy Lake and a massive alpine basin. This field trip will give B3 students the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on an easy overnight backpack with an experienced mentor.

 Barlow Pass Trailhead, 8:30 AM

The hike in is steep and east-facing so it can be pretty rough on a hot day which is why an early start is important. As an added bonus I’ll show you the entrance to an abandoned mine from around 1900.
