This trip is limited to B3 students only, to offer the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on a moderate 2-night backpack with an experienced mentor. NOTE: a $40.50 boat ticket and $14 (two night) parking pass (per vehicle) will be required to go on this trip.

Participants will be required to purchase a Lady of the Lake boat ticket round-trip from Field's Point to Stehekin, departing May 4 and returning May 6. - the cost of the ticket is $40.50 and it should be purchased BY PHONE in advance to avoid the long line at the boat dock.   To purchase your tickets – call 888-682-4584 .  Parking at Field's Point also requires a parking pass which you can purchase for  $7 per vehicle per night.

Please plan to arrive at Field's Point landing by no later than 9:15AM to buy your parking pass and get in line for the boat.  It takes about 3 hours 40 minutes to drive to Field's Point from Seattle, so with an early start  it's possible to drive there in the morning (google map directions from Seattle or you can arrange to camp along the way.  There are still campsites available for Thursday night at the Lake Chelan State Park campground, but they are by reservation only and may not last long, so those who would rather not drive over on Friday morning will need to coordinate with the other participants ASAP if they want to reserve a campsite.

We will be arriving back at Field's Point Landing by approx 4:45PM on Sunday the 6th.  Please don't plan any evening activities for that night!!

This is an early spring classic, likely to feature lots of wildflowers as well as lovely lakeshore views and a chance of sunny weather when the west side is still gloomy!

Even though this is a "lakeshore" hike, there are many hills as we go up and down on the bluffs along the lake.  It can be quite warm during the day.  Please do not sign up for this backpack trip unless you are in good condition, having done some strenuous day-hiking in the months before the trip!  Leader permission is requested so that the leader can verify experience and conditioning sufficient for you to succeed.

We will have lunch at Prince Creek before we start walking, and then head approximately to Meadow Creek for the first night's camp.  The second day we will stop for lunch and a swim (weather permitting) at Moore Point, ending the day at Flick Creek camp.  That should leave us with plenty of time for a leisurely stroll into Stehekin in time to have lunch and catch the 2PM boat back downlake on Sunday.

There may be some swift-water crossings requiring water shoes and trekking poles on this route.

More details to be provided as the trip approaches!  Note that tent space is limited at the lakeshore camps so tent sharing will be strongly encouraged!
