Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Buck Creek Pass

Priority given to Shuko & Karen's mentor group until July 26th. Slow, steady climb up to the meadow campsite. Magnificent view of Glacier Peak!

Meeting at Trinity at 8am on Friday, August 6th. You may camp at Phelps Creek campsite the night before if you do not want to drive in early morning on Friday.

Day 1: Walk 10 miles on Buck Creek trail to a open meadow campsite. Late afternoon day trip to Flower Dome (6332') .75 miles through wild flowers and view of Glacier Peak.

Day 2: Stay at same camp. Day hike to High Pass (7150') through Liberty Cap (6450') and enjoy the very blue Triad Lake in the glaciated basin.

Day 3: Pack up and walk back 10 miles to the trailhead.

I am hopeful that most of you will have had some backpacking trip under your belt and can tackle a longer hike to the campsite. This trail is a nice gradual climb. If we have good weather the view from Flower Dome and High Pass is magnificent!
