  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 700 ft

To be determined.

An introductory hike intended for B3 participants.  We'll have a mandatory meet and greet the week before to discuss planning, preparedness and general hobnobery.  We can setup carpools, gear sharing, check the essentials, discuss appropriate carrying weights, etc.  If you are missing something - no problem - we got you.

Umtanum Creek Canyon is a nice canyon walk in the Yakima River Canyon, which means we stand a pretty good chance of avoiding much precipitation. Nothing real steep and the description of 6-10 miles is really 3 miles to setup camp and 3 miles back out, additional distances are available for the intrepid explorer.  There is water available on the trail to test our purification methods.  We'll walk in during the early afternoon leaving plenty of time for setup and exploration. We can discuss having more or less time for additional exploration as fits the group.

More itinerary details to be provided by email and the mandatory meeting leading up to the trip.
