An introductory hike intended for B3 participants. We'll have a mandatory meet and greet the week before to discuss planning, preparedness and general hobnobery. We can setup carpools, gear sharing, check the essentials, discuss appropriate carrying weights, etc. If you are missing something - no problem - we got you.
Ancient Lakes is a nice short, flat walk in the Columbia River Gorge, which means we stand a pretty good chance of avoiding much precipitation. BEWARE - there is not water available - Carry your own water! We'll walk in during the early afternoon leaving plenty of time for setup and exploration. We can discuss having more or less time for additional exploration as fits the group.
More itinerary details to be provided by email and the mandatory meeting leading up to the trip.
While this trip can count toward your B3 graduation requirement, they are not meant to be your primary backpack trips to that requirement - many more backpack trips will be scheduled through the season for you to join and complete your 3 required trips.
