BACKPACKING BUILDING BLOCKS BASICS LECTURE 2 - South Bellevue Community Center

This lecture, required for graduation from the B3 course, covers skills and gear important to comfort and safety at camp during a backpack trip.

Meet in the Community Room at the South Bellevue Community Center @ 6:30pm.  Session will last until 8:30PM with 15 mins of cleanup afterwards.

 This lecture introduces students to the concepts behind backpack food planning, prep and storage;  choosing a place to camp, setting up and breaking down your camp and leave no trace;  how to choose a sleep system;  clothing for camp and sleep; and other critical elements related to the camping part of every backpack trip.   A number of hands on practical exercises with your mentor group will be a part of this session.
