  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

The class will start promptly at 6:15PM on Wednesday March 18, 2015 in the large conference room at Mercer Island Public Library, located at  4400 88th Avenue Southeast, Mercer Island, WA 98040

This lecture introduces students to the concepts behind managing pack weight to balance comfort at camp with comfort on the trail.  It then covers clothing and footwear selection for backpacking, socks and foot care, first aid kits, sanitation, hydration, food for the trail, pacing, trail hazards and navigation, and selecting a backpack.
