We will start at 6:30PM sharp so please arrive a little early at the library if you can.

This lecture introduces students to the concepts behind managing pack weight to balance comfort at camp with comfort on the trail.  It then covers clothing and footwear selection for backpacking, socks and foot care, first aid kits, sanitation, hydration, food for the trail, pacing, trail hazards and navigation, and selecting a backpack.
