Course description

Small Party Rescue is the first of a series of courses that will teach you skills to continue your exploration of our great outdoors. Please note, this is a required prerequisite before taking Leading on Trad and Intermediate Glacier Travel.

The objective of this course is to teach basic skills to participate in the rescue of a fellow climber in the event of an accident. A skills day will be followed by two scenario days. The skills taught in this course are situation dependent and scenarios will require critical thinking to solve. This course is not intended to teach methods to perform a solo rescue of your partner while climbing in a team of two (see Self-Rescue).
