Introduction to Winter Trail Running 1

This field trip teaches and practices winter trail running skills and using traction devices.
Trail Running

This session will be held at a trail suitable for learning and practicing winter trail running skills and using traction devices. This session is an opportunity to build confidence in your winter trail running and test out your gear.

Please wear breathable, technical clothing in layers suitable for outdoor winter aerobic activities.

  • Waterproof jacket, hat, buff, gloves, sunglasses, warm socks, and gaiters are recommended.
  • Trail running shoes, especially if they are stiffer and/or waterproof (with Gore-Tex)
  • A small day pack is strongly recommended.
  • Bring snacks and water.
  • A change of socks and shoes to put on afterwards can make your travel home more comfortable!
Required: multiple activities scheduled, students choose one
