Introduction to Winter Trail Running 2

This field trip teaches and practices winter trail running skills and using traction devices, with a focus on running-specific snowshoes.
Trail Running

This session will be held at a trail suitable for learning and practicing winter trail running skills and using traction devices. This session is an opportunity to learn to use running-specific snowshoes. Rental running-specific snowshoes are provided for participants.

Please wear layers of breathable, technical clothing suitable for outdoor winter aerobic activities.

  • Waterproof jacket, hat, buff, gloves, sunglasses, wool socks, and gaiters are recommended.
  • Trail running shoes, especially if they are stiffer and/or waterproof (with Gore-Tex)
  • A small day pack is strongly recommended.
  • Bring snacks and water.
  • A change of socks and shoes to put on afterwards can make your travel home more comfortable!
Required: multiple activities scheduled, students choose one
