We're back! Once again the Mountaineers with the Summit at Snoqualmie offer 6 weeks of Wednesday night ski lessons.

Beginner skier? Do you want to learn to Telemark (free-heel) or Randonee (fixed-heel aka Alpine Touring or A/T)? We have a group for you.

Experienced skier? Want to hone your technique – take it to the next level – and use those new, shorter, and shapelier skis to your best advantage? We have a group for you.

On-piste skier itching to explore off-piste and you want/need better technique? More skills in your tool-bag? Yes!

If any of these apply, sign up for our multi-week ski lessons: six consecutive Wednesday evenings 7:30-9:30pm at Summit West.

We offer sections for all levels of ability from beginning through advanced skiers in the discipline of your choice, with dedicated and experienced and certified instructors.

Telemark instruction emphasizes balance and movement on your skis using free-heel techniques to help you have fun in the back-country.

The Randonee class focuses on the optimal techniques for all mountain conditions. All class sections focus on skills for maintaining balance and skiing efficiently - skill that will work in the back-country skiing, be it the steep, crud or powder.

Lessons will be taught by the PSIA-affiliated Summit Snowsports School instructors at Summit West in multiple sections organized by your ability, and intensity, and discipline – free or fixed heel.

We will offer short "brown bag" sessions before the lessons start with topics like "skinning" and "intro to ava awareness" and "what's in your pack?"

Course Requirements

This course has no scheduled activities.

Required Equipment
  • Tele: Telemark classes require metal edged single-camber skis and telemark specific bindings with plastic boots. Don't forget your run-away straps and/or ski brakes.
  • A/T: Alpine (downhill) gear is OK. Most instructors and students will be on our lighter Alpine/Touring gear. It's a good opportunity to find out how well that A/T gear really works.
