Basic Snowshoeing Course 2022 - Everett

The Basic Snowshoeing Course offers an introduction to safe and enjoyable winter travel for the beginner. It is designed for people who want to get a taste of snowshoeing and pick up solid foundational skills. Topics of instruction will include selection and use of proper equipment, conditioning, what to rent, where to go, how to plan and evaluate snowshoe routes to avoid avalanche risk, winter travel, safety, and choosing an outing. Students will be eligible to participate in basic snowshoe tours with the confidence of having a foundation in winter travel.

Before signing up for this course, please ensure you are able to attend both the REQUIRED Zoom sessions, AND please consider whether you will be able to commit to attending the field trip scheduled for February 19. As carpooling with those outside of your household is not recommended at this time, we recognize it may be difficult for individuals without four-wheel drive to transport themselves to Stevens Pass for the field trip. Please make transportation arrangements prior to signing up for the course if necessary.
