This is an Online lecture, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10. The meeting will last no more than one hour. There will be some follow-up homework you are asked to complete on your own time before our second lecture session; this work shouldn't take you more than one hour.

Please note that you must attend this lecture in order to attend the field trip.

You will be sent a Zoom link for this meeting a few days before the event.

Topics of instruction will include selection and use of proper equipment, conditioning, what to rent, where to go, how to plan and evaluate snowshoe routes to avoid avalanche risk, winter travel, safety, and choosing an outing. Students will be eligible to participate in basic snowshoe tours with the confidence of having a foundation in winter travel.
