The class is at the Evergreen Middle School, 7621 Beverly Ln. Everett, WA 98203. The second lecture is Thursday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m. This lecture is a joint lecture with the Everett Nordic (CrossCounty) Ski Course. The Ski and Snowshoe Courses are non-interfering – meaning you can take both courses.
Topics of instruction will include selection and use of proper equipment, conditioning, what to rent, where to go, how to plan and evaluate snowshoe routes to avoid avalanche risk, winter travel, safety, and choosing an outing. Students will be eligible to participate in basic snowshoe tours with the confidence of having a foundation in winter travel.
