Suggested Gear for Students for Pool Party

  • Swim suit or quick dry shorts and top. No cotton.
  • Rash guard (for under PFDs)
  • Wet suits: Shorties or long-Farmer Johns.  Surfing style wet suits. Don't bring thick diving wet suits. You need flexibility.
  • Flip flops or sandals for wearing in shower/locker area
  • Booties, water shoes, or old tennis shoes for use in the pool. NO sandals or shoes with straps in the pool or boats.  They tend to catch on things as you are working in and around the boats.
  • PFD: if you have a Type III PFD for kayaking or canoeing bring it so you can work in your own gear
  • Towel(s) and any toiletries you would care to bring. There are showers with soap.
  • Fleece or sweat shirt or something else really warm for over your swim suit while out of the water in-between segments.
  • Snacks, water, etc. for hydrating and energizing during the session.
  • Change of clothes for after the event.
  • Swimmer's nose plugs and goggles if you already have them and know how to use/work in them.
  • Combination or keyed lock if you want to stash your stuff in lockers. Otherwise we just leave in piles on the bleachers.
  • A good attitude.
  • A nice smile.
  • A willingness to work hard and learn.
