Overview

Course teaches sport leading to climbers who already have the basics of belaying and top rope climbing.

  • Field Trip 3, 9/19/2015-9/20/2015, Vantage

 

There will be an informal and/or make-up day at 2015 Climber's Rendezvous

Course Requirements

This course has no scheduled activities.

Roster
Required Equipment

Assuming you have at least a harness, helmet and belay device. It is not necessary to purchase any new equipment prior to the first FT. Rock shoes will be nice to have for the first FT but are not required. We will discuss various equipment options and you can weigh pros and cons and make any necessary purchases prior to the second FT.

Climbing harness (with belay loop, padded (i.e. not a BD Couloir))

Climbing helmet

Rock shoes

Belay Device (any tube style OK, assisted brake, i.e. gri-gri, are encouraged)

6-10 quick-draws (sport draws, not extendable alpine style).

Cordelette and/or pre-made Quad.

Personal Anchor (PA).

Some additional items; chalk, hero loop(s), 'leaver biner(s)', misc. runners / webbing.
