Intermediate Leading On Rock

The leading on rock portion of the the Everett Intermediate Climbing class. An application must be submitted and approved before a person is accepted into this class.

The rock section of the  Everett Intermediate Climbing Course. Includes/requires a day of Intro Skills review, 2 evening basic Self Rescue sessions and 4 weekend sessions at various NW crag/climbing sites.

All applicants must attend the 2018 Instructor Review on Jan 19 or be current on Instructor Review branch requirements.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

-Intro Skills Review: Saturday, 03/30/19. Seattle Program Center

-LOR 1 weekend: 04/13-04/14/19

-LOR 2 weekend: 05/04-05/05/19

-Self Rescue Basics 1, Seattle seminar: 05/07/19 (not to be confused with official SRC course) 

-LOR 3 weekend: 05/18/-05/19/19

-Self Rescue Basics 2, Seattle seminar: 05/30/19 (not to be confused with official SRC course)

-LOR 4 weekend: 06/08-06/09/19; possibly moved to 06/15-06/16/19. Allow for travel to Squamish, B.C., day before

Course Requirements

This course has no scheduled activities.

Roster
Required Equipment

This will be covered in the first practical in more detail.  Every student is expected to have the following:

  • Harness
  • Helmet
  • Pear Biner
  • Rappel device, ATC-guide or similar device with autolocking preferred
  • Cordelletes, slings
  • Rock shoes
  • Belay gloves
  • Alpine rack (can start small and share with a buddy)
  • etc.

Ropes are provided during the course through the first three field trips
